Recipe Details:
Duck with cherries in red wine turn out very tender and juicy, thanks to the wine, that also gives the meat very rich flavor. Cherries combined with wine add a little sourness to the duck. This diabetic-friendly dish looks very beautiful and appetizing, which makes it a strong contender for the main holiday entrée on your table.


Ingredients:
  • Duck – 1
  • Sour cherries (pitted) – 1 lb.
  • Red dry wine – 1 cup
  • Salt, ground black pepper, and spices – to taste
    Recipe Directions:
    Step 1
    Wash the duck and wipe it with a paper towel. Punctures the skin over the entire surface of the duck so that the fat melts easily during cooking. Rub the duck inside and out with salt, pepper and spices.
    Step 2
    Preheat oven to 355 F. Put the duck in a baking dish and bake in the oven for about 1.5-2 hours. Pour the duck juices over the bird several times while cooking.
    Step 3
    Put the cherries in a saucepan, add wine and spices. Bring to a boil and cook for 5-7 minutes.
    Step 4
    Add cherry sauce to the duck, pour well on all sides and put the duck back in the oven for 40 more minutes, or until the duck is very soft and golden brown.
    Step 5
    Serve the duck hot, with the sauce and cherries. Enjoy!
